Westminster Abbey

By Rahel Mideksa

Westminster Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066, originally begun by Henry III in 1245 and has Gothic builds. The church was dedicated to St. Peter (apostle of Jesus). It was named the abbey in the Roman Catholic because there was a Benedictine monastery that followed the rules of St.benedict on monastic living. The principal entrance is on the west and the interior is long and narrow while the roof is upheld by rows of massive columns.

The park was a place to see and be seen, and he also noted that many “priestesses of Venus” (prostitutes) used the crowds to their advantage in the evenings.
